Black & White

Use the Black & White filter to convert your photo to black and white, with a wide variety of options, from vintage and grainy, to modern and clean.

Available Controls:

• Presets
Select from one of the pre-defined combinations of settings to stylize your photo.

• Color Filter
Simulates the use of a piece of colored glass over the lens, a technique often used by professional photographers. The color of the filter causes objects of that same color to become lighter in the resulting black and white image. Experimenting with different colors can help you create different looks and makes it possible to accentuate certain objects in your image.

• Brightness
Drag to the right to brighten or drag to the left to darken your photo.

• Contrast
Drag to the right to increase the contrast or drag to the left to reduce contrast. Use the Contrast control to increase the difference between the brightest object and the darkest object throughout your photo.

• Grain
Creates natural-looking grain to create a nostalgic effect. Click and drag the slider to the right to increase the amount of grain or to the left to reduce the grain. Dragging the slider all the way to the left ensures no grain is added to your photo.

Center Focus

The Center Focus filter makes it possible for you to create an effect that is very popular with professional photographers: making the background out-of-focus and drawing more attention to the subject in the center of the image. Additionally, you can use the Center Focus filter to apply a vignette to your photo, without blurring your photo.

Available Controls:

• Presets
Experiment with the different presets to see what different slider settings achieve.

• Weak/Strong selector
This toggle lets you select between a weak, soft-focus blur and a strong lens blur.

• Blur
Dragging this slider to the right or left will increase or decrease the blur added to your photo. When placed all the way to the left, no blur will be added to your photo.

• Outer Brightness
Use this slider to darken or brighten the edges of your photo. When this slider is in the center, no effect will be added to your photo.

• Center Brightness
Use this slider to darken or brighten the inner area of your photo. When this slider is in the center, no effect will be added to your photo.

To adjust where the Center Focus effect is applied to your photo, roll over your image and click on the on-image controls found at the center of your photo. Clicking and dragging the circle will change the location of the out-of-focus and vignette-affected area of your image.

Drama

Drama is a new and unique filter that makes it possible to create highly stylized images. Drama creates a different tailored effect based on each image and can range from a subtle enhancement of textures and details to an over-processed effect that mimics the look of HDR images.

Available Controls:

• Presets
Select from one of the pre-defined combinations of settings to stylize your photo.

• Strength
The Strength slider adjusts the intensity of the Drama filter. Dragging the slider to the right creates a more stylized effect. When moved completely to the left, there will be no effect to your image.

• Brightness
The Brightness slider adjusts the Drama effect, shifting it in either a brighter or darker direction.

• Saturation
Clicking and dragging the slider to the right increases the saturation, or vibrancy, of the colors. Dragging to the left decreases saturation. Dragging completely to the left will result in a photo completely without color.

Frames

The Frames filter makes it possible to add an edge or border to your photos. Frames are a great way to add a finishing touch to a photo.

Available Controls:

• Shuffle
Clicking on the Shuffle button will randomize all of the elements found within the Frames filter, including the Type, Size, Spread, and Grunge.

• Type
Use the Type control to select the look of the frame to apply to your photo. Each frame type changes the shape of the frame and the types of details found within the frame.

Once you have selected a frame type that you like, you can randomize the frame by clicking on that type again. This will keep the same style of frame, as well as the same Size, Spread, and Grunge values, but will slightly modify the frame to ensure a unique and different frame for each of your photos.

• Size
The Size slider adjusts the width of the outer border of the frame.

• Spread
The Spread slider adjusts the width of the frame. This slider has no effect on types 9 and 10.

• Grunge
The Grunge slider adjusts the amount of texture added to the frame. Zoom into the image to see the results best. This slider has no effect on types 9 and 10.

Grunge

The Grunge filter adds a random texture and changes the colors throughout your photo, while drawing attention to the center of your photo with both a vignette and center focus effect.

Available Controls:

• Shuffle
Clicking on the Shuffle button will randomize all of the settings in the Grunge filter, including the texture and the Saturation, Brightness, Contrast, and Style sliders.

• Texture
Use the Texture menu to select the texture to apply to your photo. Clicking on the texture you want to apply again will randomize the texture, ensuring that the texture is never in the same position from one photo to the next.

• Texture Strength
Use this slider to control the appearance of the selected texture in your photo. Moving this slider all the way to the left will ensure no texture is added to your photo.

• Saturation
Clicking and dragging the slider to the right increases the saturation, or vibrancy, of the colors. Dragging to the left decreases saturation. Dragging completely to the left will result in a photo completely without color.

• Brightness
Clicking and dragging the slider to the right brightens your photo, while dragging to the left darkens it.

• Contrast
Clicking and dragging the slider to the right increases the contrast, while dragging to the left reduces the contrast.

• Style

To adjust where the Center Focus effect is applied to your photo, roll over your image and click on the on-image controls found at the center of your photo. Clicking and dragging the Center Point will change the location of the out-of-focus and vignette-affected area of your image. Clicking and dragging the Size button, found immediately to the right of the Center Point, will change the size of the area affected. Clicking and dragging the Size button to the left makes the center area smaller, causing more of the image to be out-of-focus or affected by the Vignette slider. Clicking and dragging the Size button to the right makes the center area larger, making less of the image to be out-of-focus or affected by the Vignette slider.

Vintage

Use the Vintage filter to make any photo look like a vintage color photograph. The different styles and controls make it possible to create a wide range of looks.

Available Controls:

• Style
Use the Style menu to select a different color style to enhance your image.

• Texture
Clicking on the Texture button will open a menu enabling you to select from different available textures.

• Vignette
Use the Vignette slider to darken the edges of the image. This effect helps draw the viewer’s attention to the center part of the image, but also simulates the light falloff that happened with older cameras.

• Style Strength
The Style Strength slider adjusts the intensity of the style applied to your photo.

Tilt-Shift

The Tilt-Shift filter creates a narrow in-focus band in your photo that transitions smoothly into a blur. This effect simulates the use of either a large format view camera or the depth of field common to a macro lens, focused very closely. Applying the Tilt-Shift filter can make a normal scene look like a toy set.

Available Controls:

• Linear / Elliptical switch
The linear focus option lets you add a band of focus across your image that you can then control the size and position of. Click and drag the Center Point to position the center of the band of the in-focus area. Click and drag solid lines to increase or decrease the area that is in-focus. Click and drag on the outer dashed lines to adjust the transition from the in-focus area to the out-of-focus area. Click on the inner dashed line immediately next to the Center Point to rotate the angle of the control.

The elliptical focus option lets you add a region of focus to your image. You can adjust the height, width, and angle of the area of focus by clicking and dragging on the four points found around the ellipse. Click on the Center Point to change the position of the entire area of focus.

• Transition
The Transition slider enables you to control how quickly the in-focus area transitions to the out-of-focus area.
